We All Have A Story

Many of our donors are also patients or family members. Many patients naturally become donors. Most often because they have been touched by some of the amazing people who work at the Lakeshore General Hospital and care for them.  Patients, family, donors and staff, together they make our community hospital so special. These are their stories.

What They’re Saying

Dr. David Bacon in the ER is one of the kindest doctors I have ever met! He is very knowledgable and gentle. I cut my fingertip off and he made sure I knew exactly what he was going to do as he was treating me. Grade A bedside manners. He is very personable and just awesome. I wish there were more doctors like him. I love the Lakeshore General Hospital. The ER wait is long but understandable because they actually take time to treat the patient and find out what is wrong not just try to get through rounds. The whole staff is just great.

On Thuesday night (May 4th to May 5th 2021), I went to the emergency room at Lakeshore’s general hospital because I feared I had a blood clot in my leg. Fortunately, it wasn’t the case.

I wanted to say how incredibly nice and professional the doctor who saw me was. Dr. David Bacon was incredibly polite and at every step of the consultation, he told me what he was going to do, where he would touch me and ask me if I was comfortable. In all my life, I’ve never been examined by a doctor as respectful as him. At no point, did I feel like he rushed through my consultation and I really appreciate the time he took for me. Sadly, he was very busy that night and I didn’t have the time to tell him how thankful I was.

“My wife and I cannot thank enough all the personnel at the ICU unit, 4th floor, for their constant care and diligence. Physicians, orderlies, nurses, and technicians were very professional and always pleasant. I was there for 8 days, November 28 to December 6, 2019, and so happy to be back home knowing that I got the best possible care.”

Pierre

“My experience at the birthing centre was beyond words. I delivered my first baby in July 2019. The personnel is highly professional and they are sooo caring and truly passionate about their job. I was moved by how every nurse treated me and my baby. I was even sad to leave the hospital if this could be believed lol. I congratulate the people running this birthing centre. You are doing a great job.”

Maria

“Went to the ER for chest pain. Not only was the testing done quickly, but all technicians, nurses, Drs. and secretarial staff were polite, understanding, helpful & respectful. I’ve avoided this hospital for years due to its poor reputation. I will be returning whenever I need to. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication!”

“My brother Chris became schizophrenic at about 24 years of age, and later developed health issues around 50 years of age. He had been in and out of the Lakeshore General Hospital many times over the course of his life. He passed away there, in 2018, at age 62. We always remembered and appreciated the staff, and the care he had, and want to both thank and recognize the difficult job all hospital staff have in their day-to-day working”
