The 28th Annual Lakeshore Open raises record-breaking $600,705 for Endoscopy Department

This year’s Lakeshore Open at Elm Ridge Country Club brought together more than 260 golfers, sponsors, donors, partners and friends for an unforgettable day of golf, great food and community spirit, all in support of the renovation of Lakeshore General Hospital’s Endoscopy Department.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, the 28th Annual Lakeshore Open raised a record-breaking $600,705, the highest total in the tournament’s history.

The day began with a lively brunch reception before guests headed out onto Elm Ridge’s North and South courses. Golfers were welcomed by Nathalie Kamel, Managing Director of the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation, Tournament Co-Chairs David Cescon and Pat Vena, and Doug Barber, representing our Ace Sponsor, The 11:11 Foundation.

On the course, golfers enjoyed a culinary experience courtesy of some of our community’s favourite restaurants and food partners, including 40 Westt, Birdhouse, Café Gentile, Château Dollard, Lola Rosa, La Maison Verte, Schwartz’s, Taste Italy, and Tazza di Matina. Friendly competitions including Closest to the Pin, Hole-in-One and the Putting Contest kept the energy high throughout the day, while Cousin Vinny returned to the crossover hole, playing live music.

Following an afternoon on the course, participants gathered in the clubhouse for a lively cocktail dînatoire. Guests enjoyed an exciting silent auction featuring an impressive selection of jewelry, dining experiences, fine wine, sports memorabilia and more. Tournament Co-Founder Ron Rappel once again took the stage as our spirited live auctioneer, helping to make the evening even more memorable.

The evening concluded on a meaningful note with remarks from Dr. Nadeem Ahmed, Chief of Gastroentorology, who spoke about the important work of the Endoscopy Department and the difference this investment will make for patients and healthcare teams at Lakeshore General Hospital.

Funds raised through this year’s tournament will support the renovation of the Endoscopy Department, helping to create a more modern, functional and welcoming environment for the thousands of patients who rely on its services each year.
