John Paul Longlade
July 2, 1943 – June 30, 2023

Loving spouse, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and golfer extraordinaire John Paul Longlade passed away two days short of his 80th birthday.
Born in Perry Sound, he grew up in Britt, Ontario, and moved to Montreal in 1963, where he started his career in textiles and worked as a successful businessman for 60 years. He married Muriel Arseneau in 1970 and had three children, Robert (Alexandra Topley), Wendy (Derek D’Elia) and Christopher (Coleen Walsh). He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Lena Longlade, his brothers Damian, Archie, Kenny, Tommy, Neil, Sonny and granddaughter Kaitlin. He was the seventh son of eight boys, and is survived by brother James (Diane McAuley). He loved his large extended family and dotted on grandchildren, Brianna, Micheal, Morgan; Nicholas, Andrew and Kayley.
With an infectious laugh, he loved to be surrounded by family and friends, especially somewhere warm, green, preferably with golf club in hand followed by drinks at the 19th hole.
He spent winters in Florida, smuggling in his precious cats, touring all the local restaurants and dreaming of what boat he would buy. He was a philanthropist, community-minded, and longtime member of Summerlea, Royal Montreal, and Audubon (Naples FL) golf courses.
Special thanks to the oncology staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital and Nurse Jen.
