11:00 am – Registration
11:30 am – Opening Ceremony & Speeches
12:00 pm – Races Begin

On August 24, help support our Oncology Clinic! Teams of paddlers will take the waters of the Lachine Canal and experience the adrenaline and thrill of a race! This unique team-building activity is great for family, friends and colleagues.

Teams consist of 20 paddlers & 1 drummer.

Dragon Boat racing requires no previous skill. It is easy to learn, promotes teamwork, health and exercise, and is an activity where men and women compete side-by-side toward the same goal. Regardless of age or physical condition, once a paddler is in stroke, they are contributing to their team.

At the event, we encourage all teams to tailgate! Get into the spirit of the event – bring food and drinks, and have a blast cheering on all the teams. There will also be a prize for the best-dressed team, so get creative – no costume is too silly for this event. Don’t forget to also decorate your tent space!

With over 3,000 cancer patients treated annually, funds raised will help provide state-of-the-art equipment and massage and music therapy programs to best treat and care for our ever-growing West Island community.

Step 1: Register Your Team!

Each team must designate a captain who will be the main contact for their team. The captain can then invite teammates to join. A full team is composed of at least 16 participants and no more than 21.

*The captain can create a team even if not all the participants have been recruited yet.

Step 2: Invite Team Members!

Once the team has been created, the captain invites the participants to join the team. Participants will receive an email inviting them to create their own account and join the team.

Participants may also join the team by searching for it on the registration page.

Step 3: Start Fundraising!

Once registered and confirmed, the participants can start raising funds and preparing for the Dragon Boat Race. Each participant commits to raising a minimum of $250. (Teams commit to raising a total of $5,250.)

Refer to our Fundraising Guide to help you.
