The event welcomed close to 400 guests to Jardin Royalmount for a spectacular evening. Set to the theme of The Greatest Showman, and MCed by Cousin Vinny, the Ball included a cocktail under dazzling lights, a four-course meal, an open bar, a photobooth, a performance by Dr. Draw and a silent auction. Funds raised during the night will help support the Emergency Department at the Hospital.
Upon arrival, guests made their way to the cocktail tent where they were greeted by a stilt-walker. There, they received a glass of champagne and enjoyed the music of M’Michele while perusing the silent auction. Canapés by Brera were served during the cocktail hour while guests mingled and enjoyed performances by two acrobats in the middle of the tent.
Patrons were then invited into the dining room, which was covered in black, gold and red. Foundation Managing Director Nathalie Kamel and Foundation Board Co-Chair Dave Cescon welcomed everyone to the event, thanked sponsors and supporters and spoke about how everyone was there to celebrate the Hospital’s Emergency Department. Dr. Tomas Kaufman and Dr. Robin Nathanson, co-chiefs of the Emergency Department, thanked all attendees for supporting their team.
The meal included a burrata salad, goat cheese ravioli, and a choice of short rib, salmon or cauliflower steak for the main course. It was topped off with cake pops for dessert.
Later in the evening, event Co-Chairs Sharon Beaumont and Delia So asked everyone in the room to help support the Emergency Department by joining the Prescription for Change. Donors could come up and make a donation on the spot and then sign a poster that will be hung in the ER.
Between courses, the band Electrik got everyone on the dance floor and Dr. Draw showcased a riveting performance that stunned the crowd.
At the end of the evening, Nathalie Kamel revealed the proceeds of $630,452 to everyone in attendance, and President & CEO of the CIUSSS Ouest-de-l’Île Dan Gabay took the stage and thanked everyone for the support to cap off the night.
Thank you to our event sponsors The Gloria Baylis Foundation, Desjardins, Caisse de l’Ouest-de-l’Île, The Rubin & So Foundation and Total Events, as well as all our guests, donors, and volunteers who supported the event.
See you all in 2024!
