Lakeshore Ball 2019 cheque

Pointe-Claire (Québec) – November 19, 2019 – The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation is extremely pleased to announce that the 19th edition of the Lakeshore Ball, which was held at the Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel on November 16th, raised $ 480,000, which will be used to improve the level of care provided by the Lakeshore General Hospital. This resounding success is namely due to the generous Co-Presidents of the Ball, Air Canada Rouge, Couvertures West Island, David Brown Santasalo, Desjardins, The Mehra Family Foundation, Roxboro Excavation Inc., and the many sponsors of the event.

Over 300 guests and dignitaries enjoyed an elegant and entertaining evening, which included a cocktail, five-course meal, open bar, silent auction, as well as beautiful performances, starting with a violinist and ballet dancers who opened the evening. Guests also witnessed the creation of a painting by famous artist Eric Waugh, and had a blast dancing to the live performance by the band Electrik. Emotion reached its peak when sand artist, Marie Linda Bluteau, created a breathtaking story of a distressed 911 call, followed by the patient being rushed to the Lakeshore General Hospital by ambulance for a hemorrhagic stroke, and the life-saving care he received.

“I am extremely grateful to our generous Co-Presidents, Sponsors and Silent Auction Donors, as well as our Ball Committee, Board Members, Volunteers, Foundation Team, and to our 300 guests who made the 19th Annual Lakeshore Ball such a success. The funds raised through this event make a huge difference for the Lakeshore General Hospital, as they allow us to fund projects and purchase state-of-the-art equipment so that we can continue to offer premium care to our community,” said Heather Holmes, Managing Director of the Foundation.
