Pointe-Claire (Québec) – October 19, 2022 – The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that the 20th edition of the Lakeshore Ball, which took place on October 15 at Jardin Royalmount, raised over $503,000 to help launch a new University Family Medicine Group (GMF-U) at the Hospital. The clinic will welcome six residents, two students and up to 12,000 patients annually.
Set to the theme of the Roaring Twenties, close to 300 guests enjoyed a spectacular evening which included an outdoor cocktail, a four-course meal, an open bar, a dance show and a silent auction. Introduced by Dr. Marion Dove, Chief of the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University, a special video presentation highlighting the importance of family medicine showcased how this new GMF-U will impact the West Island.
“This is one of the most important projects to happen at the Lakeshore General Hospital. To have the government, as well as McGill University, believe in us to launch this is extremely exciting,” says Foundation Managing Director Nathalie Kamel. “The West Island deserves a hospital that can support them no matter their healthcare needs. And the Lakeshore is that Hospital.”
The Foundation, the Ball Co-Chairs Sharon Beaumont & Eyal Artzy and the Ball Committee would like to thank the event’s Diamond Sponsor Spinelli and its Platinum Sponsors Desjardins, Caisse de l’Ouest-de-l’Île and The Rubin & So Foundation.
