Pointe-Claire (Québec) – June 3, 2016 – The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation (LGHF) attracted nearly 200 participants at the 19th edition of its Annual Golf Tournament, which was held at the prestigious Royal Montreal Golf Club in L’Île-Bizard. The event, sponsored by RBC Wealth Management, Plus Belle la Vie, and Desjardins, raised $ 130,800, which will go towards the Intensive Care Unit of the Lakeshore General Hospital (LGH).
A perfect summer day where the temperature, cocktails, good food, and good humor were at the rendezvous, not to mention the exclusive Blue course worthy of the greatest players of the world! As a bonus, 40 Westt, Bâton Rouge DDO, DelMonaco, Importations Centoventi, and the Montreal Airport Marriott Inn-Terminal Hotel enabled participants to feast and be refreshed throughout the course. In addition to the sponsors and annual partners, 33 generous prize donors supported the LGHF for the live and silent auctions. The value of the items up for bid ranged from $ 100 to $ 3,500 for a week in Florida for four people, including flight, condo, and car rental! During the meal, the guests were treated to the vibrant testimonial of a patient who had a near-death experience. He was particularly grateful for the extraordinary care he received from the staff of the LGH Intensive Care Unit, during his stay of almost four months. Sophie Caron, Head Nurse of the ICU, who closely monitored the evolution of this patient, also delivered a moving message.
“We are particularly grateful to our golf committee and its co-chairs, David Cescon and Renée Yardley, who through their dedication have managed to sell-out the event and ensure that all revenue collected be directly reinvested in health care for the West Island community. We are also proud to have had the support of sponsors and dignitaries who are sensitive to our cause”, said Ms. Heather Holmes, Managing Director of the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.
The LGHF wishes to thank the event sponsors, the donors of the silent and live auctions, as well as the annual partners, without whom the event would not have been so successful.
