Are you looking to make a positive impact on your local community? Volunteering with the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation is a great way to do so!
Each year, the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation organizes approximately six fundraising events, and volunteers are a crucial part of the success of these events. The Foundation relies on volunteers to ensure events run smoothly from the check-in process to selling raffle tickets and more. You may find more information about this year’s events and the volunteer responsibilities for each below.
If you would like to be contacted about event volunteer opportunities, you may be added to the Foundation’s volunteer list. As a member of our volunteer list, you will be contacted via email when the Foundation is looking for volunteers for upcoming events. Lakeshore Rocks | May 13
This informal, music-filled evening at the iconic Club Soda is an 18+ event featuring a diverse mix of musical styles and live bands, including some made up of our very own medical teams. Guests enjoy one complimentary drink, light snacks, and dancing while taking part in a night celebrating community, connection, and care. Proceeds benefit the Lakeshore Emergency Department.
Responsibilities to include helping with check-in of attendees and selling merch and raffle tickets.
40 Westt | May 28
This upscale, intimate evening takes place at 40 Westt and features a carefully crafted four-course menu from Chef Stefano of 40 Westt, Chef David McMillan of Grille-Nature and Chef Derek Dammann of Grille-Nature. The meal will be served alongside wine from Hidden Bench Estate Winery that has been paired by sommalier Bill Zacharkiw. Live music keeps guests entertained throughout the evening.
Responsibilities to include helping with check-in of attendees and selling 50/50 tickets.
Dragon Boat Race | August 22
A fun day on the Lachine Canal for the whole family where teams battle it out to see who will be the ultimate winner. During the day, participants and spectators alike enjoy cheering on the races, food trucks, a live DJ, a kids zone, and more. All proceeds benefit the Lakeshore’s Oncology Department.
Responsibilities to include helping with check-in, running the kids area, and helping participants in and out of boats.
Lakeshore Open Golf Tournament | September 10
Taking place on both the North and South courses of Elm Ridge Country Club, the event includes a breakfast brunch, a putting contest, refreshment stations and sponsored food stations throughout the course, on-course competitions, a cocktail dînatoire and an incredible silent auction. Proceeds fund areas of greatest need in the Lakeshore General Hospital.
Responsibilities to include helping with check-in, running on-course competitions, and assisting with the silent auction.
Lakeshore Ball | October 24
Our most important fundraising event of the year, the Lakeshore Ball is an event like no other. The evening will include a cocktail hour, a silent auction, a four-course meal, entertainment, and music to help you dance the night away, all while keeping with the theme of the year. Proceeds fund areas of greatest need in the Lakeshore General Hospital.
Responsibilities to include helping with check-in, selling 50/50 tickets, assisting with the silent auction, and taking donations.
Gift-Wrapping | December 1, 2026 – December 24, 2026
From December 1-24, customers can bring their unwrapped gifts to our booth and have them wrapped by our amazing volunteers in exchange for a donation at the Fairview Pointe-Claire. All gift-wrapping materials are donated by Fairview Pointe-Claire meaning that all donations come directly back to the Foundation and will help support the hospital’s greatest need.
Gift-wrappers can expect to wrap gifts, process payments, and spread holiday cheer.
Team lead positions are also available for each shift, being the individual who manages the volunteers and donations for each shift.
