holiday campaign animated tree

Pointe-Claire (Québec) – November 21, 2016 The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation (LGHF) is pleased to launch two fundraising initiatives for the Holiday season, a time for sharing and generosity. The first of which is the traditional gift-wrapping project at the Fairview Pointe-Claire Shopping Centre, and the second, a brand new initiative which aims to light up a virtual Holiday Tree to save lives. Funds raised during this holiday campaign help improve facilities and enhance the quality of patient care at the Lakeshore General Hospital.

Gift Wrapping Fundraiser
From Saturday, November 19 to December 24 at 5 pm, the Foundation’s volunteers will put their special touch on wrapping your gifts at the two Foundation wrapping booths at the Fairview Pointe-Claire Mall. “The Gift Wrapping project is now a tradition in the West Island. Shoppers particularly appreciate this service because it is a way to support their community hospital while continuing their shopping,” says Heather Holmes, Managing Director of the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.

The Foundation is looking for volunteers on weekdays and on Christmas Eve for both its wrapping booths one located on the first floor in front of the SAQ and one on the second floor in front of Sports Experts. Anyone interested in volunteering their time to a good cause is invited to contact Anne-Marie Milard at 514-630-2081 or by e-mail at ammilard.odi@ssss.gouv.qc.ca.

Animate our Tree – Save Lives
A brand new initiative with a focus towards Internet users, proposes to animate the Foundation’s virtual Holiday Tree. Indeed, from November 21 to December 24, the Foundation’s virtual tree will progressively be decorated thanks to the generosity of donors. Coloured balls, canes, stockings, and bells will be added to the holiday tree through various donation levels. Donor names will be featured unless they choose to remain anonymous. To access the tree, simply visit the Foundation’s website at Lakeshorefoundation.ca. “We hope to reach a new segment of the community with this initiative, especially as we will take advantage of our partner’s digital signage technology to promote the campaign on close to one hundred health and sports institutions in the West Island,” adds Heather Holmes.

The LGHF would like to thank CF Fairview Pointe Claire, Catsys and System D Technologies, who sponsor these projects.
