Pointe-Claire (Québec) – October 20, 2024 – The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that the 22nd edition of the Lakeshore Ball, which took place on October 19 at Windsor Station, raised $1,030,715 for robotics for the hospital’s Surgery Department.
Set to the theme of Secret Garden, over 600 guests enjoyed a spectacular evening, including a cocktail, a four-course meal prepared by Société Traiteur, an open bar by Brahm Mauer Bar Services, a performance by BO Montréal, music by The Directors Showband, a live auction and an online silent auction.
“This is the largest gathering of supporters we’ve ever had for the Lakeshore Hospital, with over 600 people in the same room. This is a true testament to how deeply our mission resonates with our community,” says Foundation Managing Director Nathalie Kamel. “Our Chief of Surgery, Dr. Sevan Ortaaslan relentlessly advocated for robotics to become a part of West Island care. One year ago, we only dreamed about the possibility of robotics at our community hospital. Now, we have made it a reality.”
“This robot represents a radical change in the field of orthopedic surgery. It allows our surgical teams to operate with an unprecedented level of precision, tailoring procedures to each patient’s unique anatomy. The result is more precise surgery and faster recovery with less discomfort, giving our patients the best possible chance of regaining their quality of life with minimum disruption,” says Dr. Sevan Ortaaslan.
The Foundation, Ball Co-Chairs Paul Broccolini and Stephanie Garzon and the Ball Committee would like to thank the event’s Platinum Sponsors: Broccolini and The Gloria Baylis Foundation, and its Silver Sponsors: Desjardins, Caisse de l’Ouest-de-l’Île, Elements Mechanical, The Rubin & So Foundation, Sekure Merchant Solutions, The Tenaquip Foundation, Total Events and Vitreco.
