Volunteers make a world of difference at Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation! They help us in our goals of purchasing much-needed equipment for our community hospital, improving the physical premises of the hospital, and training medical professionals who work at the hospital.

What are we looking for?

We are currently seeking engaged individuals who can help us in the office, with our events, and sell raffle tickets. These three areas of expertise are in high demand for us right now, and with as little as an hour, you can make a difference!

LOTTERY TICKET SALES VOLUNTEER

 

ARE YOU SOMEONE WHO:

  • Is enthusiastic, confident, adaptable, reliable and kind?
  • Is able to work autonomously and multi task?
  • Maintains a positive attitude at all times and strong work ethic?
  • Is results driven and goal oriented?
  • Can handle and overcome objections?
  • Employs professional language and presentation of self?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP US:

  • Set up a sales area (with marketing materials etc.)?
  • Inventory tickets before a sales period starts?
  • Engage with potential clients?
  • Demonstrate advantages for the potential client to buy the ticket?
  • Sell tickets?
  • Balance inventory and payments after a sales period finishes?

OTHER:

  • Previous related sales experience a definite benefit

Ideally, you would help us for a few hours a day, twice a week from October – December, and then as needed the balance of the year.

NB: This year, all tickets selling activities has to respect the social distancing rules and recommendations.

SILENT AUCTION SOLICITOR VOLUNTEER

ARE YOU SOMEONE WHO:

  • Is enthusiastic, confident, reliable and kind?
  • Is able to work autonomously or in a team of two?
  • Has strong communication skills?
  • Feels comfortable making cold calls?
  • Can handle and overcome objections?
  • Is bilingual (verbal)?
  • Employs professional language and presentation of self?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP US:

  • Visit and/or call West Island businesses (restaurants, spas, retailers etc.) to request donated goods and/or services in the form of products and/or gift certificates for our fundraising silent auctions?
  • Collect item(s) and donors’ contact information?
  • Maintain the silent auction list provided, including updating items received and their value?
  • Liase with the Foundation Events Manager?

OTHER:

  • Previous experience a benefit

Ideally, you would help us for a few hours per day, once a week from April to June, September to November , and then as needed the balance of the year.

ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEER

ARE YOU SOMEONE WHO:

  • Has administrative experience?
  • Knows of Microsoft Office Word, Excel?
  • Is able to work autonomously?
  • Possesses exceptional organizational skills?
  • Understands basic banking concepts (balancing money, preparing a deposit, etc.)?
  • Is self-motivated and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines?
  • Maintains a positive attitude at all times and strong work ethic?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP US:

  • Open mail?
  • Separate donations (cash, checks, credit cards)?
  • Process credit cards?
  • Prepare bank deposits?
  • Prepare mail for donors (thank you letters, tax receipts, etc.)?

Ideally, you would help us approximately half a day once a week from October – January, and then as needed the balance of the year.
