Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 des donateurs, le scanneur est dot\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments novateurs pour am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 des soins offerts aux patients. Situ\u00e9 au c\u0153ur de l\u2019h\u00f4pital, le nouvel appareil est facilement accessible pour tous les patients et peut effectuer jusqu\u2019\u00e0 75 tests par jour.<\/p>\n<p>Ce matin, devant les \u00e9lus locaux, les principaux donateurs, les entreprises partenaires et des employ\u00e9s de l\u2019h\u00f4pital, Heather Holmes, directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de la Fondation, a accueilli les invit\u00e9s et a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 Yvan Carbonneau, directeur du bureau ex\u00e9cutif du CIUSSS ODIM, qui a soulign\u00e9 les avantages de cette nouvelle salle pour la population de l\u2019Ouest-de-l\u2019\u00cele. Le Dr Fadi Aris, chef de l\u2019imagerie m\u00e9dicale du CIUSSS ODIM, a ensuite pris la parole pour parler de cet \u00e9quipement de pointe. En effet, le Dr Aris a pris le temps d\u2019expliquer comment la contribution de la Fondation am\u00e9liore la qualit\u00e9 du service offert \u00e0 l\u2019H\u00f4pital g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Lakeshore:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Le d\u00e9tecteur avanc\u00e9 pour le tomodensitom\u00e8tre augmente suffisamment la r\u00e9solution de l\u2019image pour permettre la r\u00e9duction des doses de rayonnement et prot\u00e9ger les parties sensibles du corps. Les images de haute qualit\u00e9 fournies par ce d\u00e9tecteur constituent un avantage primordial lors du contr\u00f4le de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 des traitements de nos patients en oncologie.<\/li>\n<li>L\u2019ajout d\u2019un puits de lumi\u00e8re virtuel rend la pi\u00e8ce plus accueillante et moins intimidante. Lorsqu\u2019ils se retrouvent en position couch\u00e9e pour recevoir leurs tests de diagnostic, les patients b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d\u00e9sormais d\u2019une vue sur le ciel favorable \u00e0 la d\u00e9tente. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 des images, nos patients b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d\u2019un diagnostic plus rapide. Cela nous permet \u00e9galement d\u2019effectuer des tests et des proc\u00e9dures que nous ne pouvions pas r\u00e9aliser ici auparavant. Par exemple, nous pouvons maintenant utiliser le rayonnement \u00e0 faible dose pour les tests de d\u00e9tection pr\u00e9coce du cancer du poumon. En bref, la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019image est tellement meilleure que nous pouvons effectuer les m\u00eames tests, mais avec une dose r\u00e9duite. C\u2019est une excellente nouvelle pour nos patients. \u00bb a expliqu\u00e9 le Dr Aris.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abJe suis tr\u00e8s reconnaissante \u00e0 la Fondation de l\u2019H\u00f4pital g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Lakeshore pour son g\u00e9n\u00e9reux soutien. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette importante contribution, associ\u00e9e \u00e0 une subvention du minist\u00e8re de la Sant\u00e9 et des Services sociaux, l\u2019H\u00f4pital g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Lakeshore est maintenant dot\u00e9 d\u2019un tomodensitom\u00e8tre de pointe \u00e0 la disposition de ses patients. Des images grandement am\u00e9lior\u00e9es aideront l\u2019\u00e9quipe de soins \u00e0 parvenir plus rapidement au bon diagnostic. La modernisation des \u00e9quipements de l\u2019H\u00f4pital g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Lakeshore est une priorit\u00e9 pour le CIUSSS de l\u2019Ouest-de-l\u2019\u00cele de Montr\u00e9al. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 de la Fondation de l\u2019H\u00f4pital g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Lakeshore, nous nous rapprochons de notre objectif \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Lynne McVey, pr\u00e9sidente et directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale du CIUSSS de l\u2019Ouest-de-l\u2019\u00cele de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab C\u2019est une p\u00e9riode tr\u00e8s stimulante pour nous puisque ce nouveau service d\u2019imagerie m\u00e9dicale s\u2019inscrit dans une s\u00e9rie d\u2019annonces positives pour l\u2019H\u00f4pital g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Lakeshore, notamment la r\u00e9duction du taux d\u2019infection de 35%, l\u2019inauguration des salles de soins intensifs et l\u2019ouverture de la salle de radiologie multifonctionnelle.
