Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation Duck Race Event Completely Renewed

Pointe-Claire (Québec) – August 31, 2017 –  The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation’s (LGHF) Duck Race event will be held in collaboration with the West Island Mommies Family Fun Fair on September 10, 2017,  at the Holiday Inn – Pointe-Claire,  from 10 am to 3 pm. The 21st edition of this fun-filled family event proposes a completely renewed formula offering many activities in the “Yellow Ducky Play Zone”. The seven-prize draw will take place at 2:30 pm and funds raised will go towards improving health care for the West Island community.

By purchasing a $10 Duck Race ticket on-site, you will not only get a chance to win one of seven fabulous prizes, including a cruise for two to the Bahamas, but you will receive a magnificent plush Lapins Crétins toy, for the enjoyment of the young and the young at heart, as well as a coupon redeemable for a homemade flavour of the day ice cream cone at Miss Manitts Bakery.


You will also have the opportunity to have even more fun by participating in a host of activities offered in the Yellow Ducky Play Zone, while receiving prizes for each one. Here are a few examples:

  • Measure your skills in the Cash Cube, by catching one of the lucky tickets;
  • Participate in the Duck Race by advancing yours with a straw;
  • Pose with our mascot and be part of our photo album.

The 20th Annual Golf Tournament of the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation : A Resounding Success

Pointe-Claire (Québec) – June 20, 2017 The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation (LGHF) is pleased to announce that the 20th Annual Golf Tournament, presented by RBC Wealth Management, raised $ 157,000, which will be used to enhance the quality of care and facilities at the Lakeshore General Hospital. Sponsored by Desjardins, BFL Canada and FSCO Digital Marketing, the event attracted more than 200 golfers on the championship course of the Elm Ridge Country Club in Île-Bizard. The evening was emceed by Larry Day and opened with a live performance by the Acafellas Barber shop quartet.


It was a real dream day with perfect weather, breathtaking scenery, an exquisite brunch, a tasty cocktail followed by a gourmet meal, and as a bonus, on-course culinary tastings offered by 40 Westt, Bâton Rouge DDO, Bistro Pointe-Claire, La Diperie, the Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel, La Maison Verte and Molson. What more can you ask for!

FREE Breakfast on the occasion of the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation 2017 Duck Race

Pointe-Claire (Québec) – May 1, 2017 – The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation (LGHF) is launching the sales period for the 21st annual Duck Race with a FREE breakfast on May 31st, from 6am to 9am at Cora restaurant in Pointe-Claire! Anyone purchasing a $10 ticket for the race, that day on-site, receives a complimentary breakfast offered by Cora restaurant, located at 187 Blvd. Hymus in Pointe-Claire. Funds raised will go towards improving health care at the Lakeshore General Hospital.


This year, the Duck Race concept has been completely renewed and will be presented in collaboration with the West Island Mommies Family Fun Fair, which will be held on Sunday, September 10, from 10 am to 3 pm at the Holiday Inn in Pointe-Claire. Huge success for the 7th edition of the Bâton Rouge Gastronomy Event of the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation

Pointe-Claire (Québec) – March 28, 2017 The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation (LGHF) hosted the 7th Annual Bâton Rouge Gastronomy Event on March 27, with close to 250 attendees. This delicious and lively evening raised $51,140, which was increased at the very last minute to $ 52,840, thanks to donations received, and in particular for the sale of a Carey Price Jersey, which was donated by Bâton Rouge. The proceeds of the event will go towards enhancing the quality of care and facilities at the Lakeshore General Hospital. The evening was sponsored by: Bâton Rouge, Château Dollard, Les Délices Lafrenaie, Audiovisual Diplomate, G. Thomas International, Hemsleys Jeweller, Italvine, Lundbeck, Maison Fusion, Rideau Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, Suite 88 Chocolatier.


In addition to a fun evening where guests could enjoy cocktails, a four-course meal and an open bar, the LGHF relied on proceeds from a silent auction and a raffle of several prizes including a Judith Ripka necklace valued at $1,200.

Ms. Holmes together with Dr. Fiore Lalla and David Cescon, the Co-Chairs of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, took advantage of the event to present the Humanitarian Award to the Lakeshore Light Opera for their outstanding contribution, unwavering commitment and their true passion for the betterment of the West Island community for over a quarter century.

The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation raised $502,200 at the 16th edition of the Lakeshore Ball

Pointe-Claire (Québec) – November 14, 2016 – The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that $502,200 were raised at the 16th Annual Lakeshore Ball, which was held on Saturday, November 12th at the vibrant Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel. The monies raised will be used namely to enhance, redesign and integrate the Intensive Care and Cardiac Care Units at the Lakeshore General Hospital. These units will be housed in a single multifunctional space and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. This project will save valuable minutes in critical life or death situations. Many West Island companies brought their support to the Foundation’s annual Ball, including the Co-Presidents of the Ball: Roxboro Excavation, Desjardins, Broccolini Construction, Santasalo, McKesson Canada, and Réseau Sélection. The event also attracted numerous sponsors: Aéro Mag, Baylis Medical, Coca-Cola, Desjardins, Le Diplomate Audiovisuel, Mirella & Lino Saputo Foundation, Groupe Spinelli, Plani-Concept Plus, Rolland Enterprises Inc., Rebellion Films, and the SAQ.

In addition to supporting the Foundation’s mission, which is to advance patient care at the Lakeshore General Hospital, guests attended a glamorous, elegant networking evening. The enchanting Brazil-themed event included cocktails, champagne, five-course gourmet dinner, open bar, and dance to the sound of the musical group Electrik. A beautiful silent auction and other entertainment were part of the evening, as well as a lot of surprises for the guests.
